Safari to Masai Mara
We have been here a month. Ally and Luke are visiting the past couple of weeks and leave at the end of this week. While they were here, we had the opportunity to go to the Masai Mara this weekend and stay at the Fairmont Masai Mara Safari Club. They have a missionary deal for those of us working at RVA. We visited with the Masai at a village and saw them herding their cattle in the Mara.
I'll blog soon about the four-hour journey there. For now, I want to show you all the incredible pictures we took. We saw all of the big five: lions, rhinos, a cheetah, leopards, and elephants. In the photos, you will see a gazelle hanging in a tree. A leopard caught dinner and hung it there. In the neighboring tree, Luke spotted two small leopard cubs!
It was surreal seeing all of these animals in their native habitat. As you will see from the photos, we were within ten feet of lions and rhinos!
The hippo and crocodile photos are those taken from our safe perch at the Fairmont. We could see them while we ate our meals on the deck outside.
So, enjoy the slide-show!
